Iridium operates a fleet of 66 low earth orbit (LEO) satellites that constantly move across the sky overhead providing a truly global network. Iridium offers both global airtime and regional airtime bundles. The regional bundles are cheaper than the global bundles but only operate within regional boundaries. GCSat offers the pre-paid MEA (Middle East and Africa) bundle that operates throughout Africa and the Middle East.

 

Iridium offers two handsets, the 9555 and the rugged 9575 Extreme. Both handsets are compact and have good battery life with the 9575 also having location awareness and SOS capability.
